About us

Our history

After five years of planning and fundraising, “Mt View” Homes was opened in 1982, thanks to a lot of hard work by the members of the community. It consisted of 25 individual rooms. In 1997, four Independent Living Units were built. Then in 2005, five more rooms were completed making the hostel a 30 bed facility, with “Aging in Place.” Residents are now able to stay at Mt View Homes once their care status reaches “High Care”, and may continue on to stay through palliation and care needs are able to be met by the competent staff.

Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Personal Care Assistants are on hand to provide good quality care. Visiting allied health professionals visit regularly, and the local Doctor visits on a weekly basis.

Mt View Homes continues to be managed by the Board of Management, consisting of 11 directors from the surrounding districts. They meet monthly to plan, implement and organise building and fundraising events. “Friends of Mt View Homes” is the fundraising body who work hard with catering and other events to fundraise for much needed equipment. Mt View Homes is funded by the Commonwealth Government, and a fully accredited facility through the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.

The people of Booleroo Centre and surrounding communities contribute through donations and volunteer time to help keep Mt View Homes a viable and active Aged Care Facility. Mt View Homes has a keen focus on Continuous Improvement, and continually work hard to improving the care provided to residents as well as the environment in which the residents live in.
